I’m not a big fan of kids, and a recent trip to the mall made me dislike them even more. I had just gotten some food from the food court and a kid poured some of his drink on the floor. I stepped on the drink, slipped, and fell on my back. I had to be taken to one of the Cumming chiropractors in a hurry. It seems that I can’t escape kids, because I have to deal with other people letting their kids do anything. That kid should have been well behaved, so he wouldn’t be pouring drinks on the floor.
It’s a good thing that my back didn’t have a major injury, or I would have been in deep trouble. Not only was I unprepared to handle a severe back injury, but I didn’t have the money to spare on it either. The mother of the child who poured the drink of the floor apologized to me for what her son had done, but her son didn’t apologize at all. She was having trouble dealing with the child, and everyone around her was paying for it. She had been having trouble with him since he turned nine years old.
I suggested that the woman and her son get some counseling done. If the boy were my child, I would have disciplined him the hard way, but my ideas of parenting are not for everyone. Hopefully I won’t have to see that boy ever again, at least, not unless he has changed his attitude. For the sake of his mother, I hope he does. I also hope that I don’t run into any more kids doing bad things at the mall. I don’t think my poor back can handle another fall because some kid decided that he wanted to turn the floor into a water slide.
